The Be Proud Awards give people the opportunity to nominate unsung heroes within their community who deserve an official thank you.

There are nine award categories, including the introduction of this year's Contribution to the Community (Business) Award, recognising companies that have introduced schemes, initiatives or policies that have made a positive impact in their communities.

Each of the categories is sponsored by a different local business, all of which are involved because of their close work with the Council in communities and neighbourhoods across the city.
