MAES is pleased to announce the delivery of three new accredited courses at Level 1 to be run at the Manchester Communications Academy from May to July 2011.

These 10-week courses are designed to introduce people to the role of volunteers teaching assistants and youth workers in the community. Course fees are £131 for learners required to pay fees (£253 for overseas learners) but are free to people on benefits (proof required). Please note there may also be additional charge for people who wish to undertake placement work and need to undertake a CRB clearance check.


1.An Introduction to Volunteering Work in the Community Course
Start Date: Wednesday 4th May
Times: 10am to 12.00 and 1.00pm to 3.00pm

2.An Introduction to Youth Work in the Community Course
Start Date: Thursday 5th May
Times: 4.00pm to 7.00pm

3.An Introduction to Teaching Assistant Course
Start Date: Thursday 5th May
Times 10.00am to 12.00 and 1.00pm to 3.00pm.


Enrolment and initial assessment will take place at the Manchester Communications Academy Silchester Drive, Miles Platting, M40 8NT on Thursday 7th April from 1.00pm to 6.00pm.
