400+ Temporary Christmas vacancies throughout Trafford and Manchester (and some outlying stores) will appear on line and on the Jobcentre Plus website from 16/9/10 and be staggered over 16 weeks.

JOB TITLE and brief job role description
Customer Service Assistants. These are temporary Christmas roles which will vary in duration from 2 weeks to 3 months. Competitive rates of Pay and performance related rewards. Employees get 20% discount M&S. Annual Bonus scheme. Pension Plan.

HOW TO APPLY
Application process consists of an online application form followed by a role play session. Vacancies are notified as and when role play sessions are available so candidates need to keep checking the website.

Online Application
The online application consists of a psychometric test assessing candidate’s suitability to work within Retail. The test poses a series of questions based on various scenarios within a retail setting. If successful at this stage applicants will be invited to book an appointment date / time for a role play session (subject to availability). Applicants will need their NINO and details of two professional references including name address and post code at this stage.

Role play session
Candidates need to take ID and Proof of Right to Work documents to their role play interview. (Originals AND a photocopy). Two M&S colleagues carry out the role play sessions one observing, taking notes the other taking an active part within the role play exercise.
Candidates will be given five minutes to read through a booklet describing a scenario within a virtual company detailing the role they are expected to take with key objectives and behaviours expected, they then have ten minutes in which to act out their role and are assessed against M&S company values:

Taking Ownership and taking Responsibility
The M&S staff will also assess / observe general communication skills and body language.
Candidates are usually notified the same day whether or not they have been successful.
