Alzheimer's Society is a membership organisation, which works to improve the quality of life of
people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Many of our 25,000 members have personal experience of dementia, as carers, health
professionals or people with dementia themselves, and their experiences help to inform our work.

Memory Walk is Alzheimer's Society's national flagship fundraising event, raising money for local people affected by dementia.

Alzheimer's Society staff and volunteers provide both local information and over 2,000 services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to people affected by dementia in their communities. Our local services include day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring. From
Alzheimer's Café's and innovative 'singing for the brain' sessions to memory-book projects and group outings, our services provide both practical support and an essential point of human contact.
The Manchester Memory Walk takes place at Heaton Park on Sunday the 9th of September.
Registration opens at 10am and the walk starts at 11am. Our audience will be mixed and will
include people with dementia, families and friends. We are hoping to have about 800 people
walking this year.

We need to recruit reliable volunteers for a few hours on the day and help support the staff with marshalling the walk, running fundraising stalls or help with registrations? We are trying to recruit at least 40 volunteers and would really appreciate it if you could help!
