Long Term Opportunity
This City of Manchester is changing. In 2 years time the Cathedral will be the centerpiece to Medieval Manchester drawing in visitors to witness it's Medieval secrets being revealed.
To ensure visitors get the best of the area the Cathedral is ramping up it's volunteer programme to provide more welcomers and tour guides- but this wont be a traditional volunteer programme.
The Cathedral wants to attract people from all backgrounds to come and volunteer, that includes people who are currently out of work but are looking for a route back in. We have roles in
caretaking, welcoming, admin, hospitality, flower arranging and education. You will be mentored by existing volunteers and City Centre employers to develop your knowledge and be supported with a 10 week training programme delivered by Manchester College to increase your skills.
This is not a standard volunteer programme. When you're ready we want to move you on. After the 10 weeks you should have well developed customer service skills, proven reliability and you'll get a reference from the Cathedral.
Our employer partners have agreed to give real job interviews to people who have gone through the programme and who are job ready. This includes the Arndale, the Hilton, Harvey Nichols and the Odeon Cinema. Full feedback will be given on any unsuccessful applicants so we can continue to work with you to improve your future chances of success.
College Training: Mondays 10-4
Volunteering: ½ a day a week 10-1 or 1-4
Volunteers must be able to commit to completing the 10 week course in order to gain certification.

programme. To come along to our recruitment day applicants must speak to their JCP advisor and ask to be referred to LMS opportunity: 32583This Opportunity is now closed for applications.
