enthusiastic down to earth people to volunteer their time at the following opportunities throughout Manchester:Project Volunteer
This role is an opportunity for both experienced and new volunteers to take on a general role in one of our projects. The majority of our services are supported accommodations that work with the homeless. This can include dealing with issues around drugs and alcohol; many of our service users are also ex-offenders.Time commitment for this role
Our volunteers must be able to commit to either one of the following time periods between the hours of 9:00am -19:00 am Monday -Sunday for a minimum of between 4-6 months:
4 hours a day.
Two 2 hour periods over the week.Volunteer Mentor
We are seeking down to earth people with the right experience and skills to provide mentoring
support to our clients in our social housing services throughout Manchester. This is a brilliant new opportunity for the right people who want to give up their time for their own benefit and for the
benefit of our clients.Time commitment for this role
Our mentors must be able to commit to either one of the following time periods between the hours of 9:00am -19:00 am Monday -Sunday for a minimum of between 4-6 months:
4 hours a day.
Two 2 hour periods over the week.Volunteer Skills Leader
At Riverside ECHG we are scouting Manchester for hidden talent. We recognise the importance of volunteers and are looking for people to bring what they consider their personal skills into our
services. It could be anything from a musical interest to something as simple as reading poetry.
Other examples:
Drama groups, pottery, music/ tuition, translators, photography, gardeningTime commitment for this role
Your commitment will depend on the type of activity you help to introduce to our services, most Skills Leaders must be able to commit to a regular slot usually once a week for either 1 or 2 hours.CRB CHECKING
All successful applicants are subject to an enhanced CRB check before they begin their placement. A criminal record doesn't necessarily prevent you from volunteering.Training
All volunteers are required to complete a mandatory induction and any other training
required for the role.Previous experience in a support setting is desirable but not essential. Above all we are looking for commitment, energy and natural ability to work with, and relate to our diverse client groups.
We do not provide transport to volunteering opportunities however we can provide reasonable travel expenses.
